Opting Out of Outdoorsy Sales Tax Rates

Outdoorsy started collecting sales tax for owners in certain states on November 1st, 2020. There have been some changes in the Tax Law that now requires marketplaces to collect sales tax.

As a marketplace facilitator Outdoorsy is required by state law to collect sales tax on behalf of owners on Outdoorsy’s platform. Sales tax will only be charged on sales originating from the outdoorsy.com website, sales from other sources that are not from our marketplace are not subject to our marketplace facilitator policy.

Bookings originating on outdoorsy.com will be forced to collect sales tax. You will receive those funds and need to remit them to the state as normal.

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT YOU?

  1. Dealer-owned bookings: Your current tax collection process will be unaffected.

  2. Combo bookings: As it is mandatory for Outdoorsy to collect taxes, they will be released to you with payout.
