This guide covers the two-step process of setting up Turo email forwarding to Wheelbase and syncing your vehicle calendars via the Turo vehicle ID.
Syncing Email
Add the Forwarding Address
The first step is to tell Gmail where you want your Turo emails to go.
- Open your Gmail Settings (gear icon) and select See all settings.
- Navigate to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
- Click the Add a forwarding address button.
Enter the following address: (insert your user id)-turo@reply.outdoorsy.co
You can access your user id by clicking on ‘View Checkout Example’ hyperlink under the ‘About My Business’ section — after clicking the hyperlink you will see your user id reflected in the URL/address bar.
Click Next, then Proceed, and finally OK.
Authentication: Gmail will send a verification email to Outdoorsy or ask you to authenticate. Follow any prompts that appear on your screen to authorize the connection.
Create a Specific Filter
To ensure only Turo-related emails are forwarded (and not your entire inbox), you must create a filter.
- Locate the Search bar at the top of your Gmail screen.
- Click the Show search options icon (the three horizontal lines/sliders on the right side of the search bar).
- In the setup window, enter the Turo-specific email addresses in the From and To fields as required.
- Click Create filter at the bottom of the window.
Finalize Forwarding Rules
Once the filter is created, you need to tell Gmail what to do when an email matches those criteria.
- Check the box for Forward it to:.
- Select (insert your user id)-turo@reply.outdoorsy.co from the dropdown menu.
- (Optional) Check the box for Apply the label if you wish to organize these emails within your Gmail inbox.
- Click the Create filter button to finalize.
- Note: You may be prompted to complete a final authentication step. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish.
Verify the Setup
It is always best practice to double-check that the automation is active.
- Go back to Gmail Settings > Filters and Blocked Addresses.
- Look for the entry containing (insert your user id)-turo@reply.outdoorsy.co
- If it appears in this list, your forwarding is correctly configured.
Tip: If you don't see Turo messages appearing in your Outdoorsy account within 24 hours, revisit the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab to ensure the forwarding address is "Verified."
Syncing Vehicle Calendar
In Wheelbase, go to the Calendar section of managing a vehicle.
- Select “Manage Calendars”
- A pop-up will appear. Select the Option “Turo” for the type of calendar (instead of External ICS)
-
Enter the associated Turo vehicle ID. On a Turo listing page, the vehicle ID number is at the end of the URL.
Add the calendar for your selected vehicles.
